How to file a Travelers claim
- Phone: 1-800-252-4633, 24 hours a day, every day. Travelers asks you to call for injuries or significant damage.
- Online: your MyTravelers® account on the website or in the app. You can also file as a guest without logging in.
In California, Travelers auto policies are sold through local independent agents, so your agent can also help you start the claim.
You choose the shop, not Travelers
California's Auto Body Repair Consumer Bill of Rights says it plainly: an insurance company can't require you to have the repairs done at a specific body shop. You also have the right to a written, itemized estimate, to know what your policy covers for towing, storage and a rental car, and to get your own estimate from a registered shop while your claim is open.
Travelers has the MyTravelers® Repair Network, with repairs guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle. Travelers itself says you have the right to choose where your car is repaired and are under no obligation to use a network shop.
Through an agent? Loop them in
If you bought Travelers through an independent agent, send them the claim number too. Between your agent, the adjuster and us, the claim moves faster and you don’t have to repeat the story three times.
How we handle a Travelers claim at GV
- Tow or drop-off. If the car can't be driven, we tow it to our shop in Downtown LA for free when we do the repair.
- Photos and teardown. We document all the damage, including what's hidden behind the bumper and panels.
- Estimate and adjuster. We send the estimate and photos to Travelers and work directly with the adjuster.
- Supplements. If more damage shows up during the repair, we send Travelers a supplement for approval before we continue.
- Repair and report. Factory procedures, color-matched paint, a written report with photos at pickup, and a 3-year warranty on body and paint.
