Chubb insures many high-end and collector cars. How to file the claim and how we handle a premium repair.

How to file a Chubb claim

  • Phone: 1-800-CLAIMS-0 (1-800-252-4670), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Online: the Chubb client portal. Chubb also has a mobile app for photo estimates.

You choose the shop, not Chubb

California's Auto Body Repair Consumer Bill of Rights says it plainly: an insurance company can't require you to have the repairs done at a specific body shop. You also have the right to a written, itemized estimate, to know what your policy covers for towing, storage and a rental car, and to get your own estimate from a registered shop while your claim is open.

Chubb has a preferred repair shop program with guaranteed workmanship while you own or lease the car. Chubb states that choosing a shop is completely up to you and won’t affect your claim or settlement.

Premium cars, premium process

We repair Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. For a Chubb claim that means factory parts where the policy allows, manufacturer repair procedures, paint matched to the original, and full photo documentation for the adjuster. If your policy has Agreed Value, ask Chubb how it applies to your claim.

How we handle a Chubb claim at GV

  1. Tow or drop-off. If the car can't be driven, we tow it to our shop in Downtown LA for free when we do the repair.
  2. Photos and teardown. We document all the damage, including what's hidden behind the bumper and panels.
  3. Estimate and adjuster. We send the estimate and photos to Chubb and work directly with the adjuster.
  4. Supplements. If more damage shows up during the repair, we send Chubb a supplement for approval before we continue.
  5. Repair and report. Factory procedures, color-matched paint, a written report with photos at pickup, and a 3-year warranty on body and paint.
